Kickstart Your Health & Vitality with this 24-Hour Juice Cleanse

Whether you’re just jumping on the healthy living train (congrats and welcome!), or you have been leading a healthy lifestyle for years, a juice cleanse is an amazing way to reset, recharge and revitalize your body.

11205984_10152864674853543_8545048143315709991_nA mini 24-hour juice cleanse is a great starting point, and will jumpstart your wellness, push out toxins and sickly cells, and nourish good cells that are starved of nutrients. A juice cleanse also lets your digestive system, one of the most important parts of your body, take a much-needed break and regenerate.

Of course, it may sound brutal drinking only fruits and veggies for an entire day and forgoing the food, but the magnificent benefits outweigh any discomfort you may experience. It’s natural to experience side effects such as bad breath and body odor, stomach cramps, nausea, weakness, exhaustion and foul-smelling stools. And if these side effects make you weary of fasting, just think of all the toxins that are wreaking havoc on your body. Those toxins are stuck in your cells, leading to things like inflammation and disease, chronic pain, cellulite and depression to name a few. If this isn’t your first rodeo, your side effects should not be as noticeable.

Before starting this cleanse, make sure you have an appliance to do the job. If you have a juicer, great! If not, a high-speed blender will do the trick. I don’t recommend you go out and buy a new juicer before you are certain you are on the bandwagon! In fact, even though I do have a juicer, I often use my Vitamix anyway, because the cleanup is so much easier. Once you’ve blended everything, all you need to do is run it through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sieve.

Whether using a blender or juicer, you might wonder what to do with all the extra pulp. No need to waste it! You can add it to soup or make a broth out of it, add it to muffins, meatballs or veggie burgers or of course you can compost it or feed it to your animals (my last pup, Avery LOVED it!).

Here is Your 24-Hour Juice Cleanse Plan:

You can juice all recipes in the morning and store in the fridge, or you can make a juice at each meal. I recommend glass Mason jars to store juice.

Be sure to also have lots of water available as well as herbal tea to drink throughout the day. Be prepared to limit physical exertion.

If you are new to juicing, feel free to add green apples or pineapple to any of these juices.

After a day of this much chlorophyll and other goodness, your body will be sure to thank you! I like to do a 24-hour juice cleanse after the holidays or anytime I just want to look and feel my best.  A really great time to try a 24-hour juice cleanse is the middle of one of my Seasonal Reboots. I always offer one, and it’s always optional. My next Reboot launches February 18th, so stay tuned for that!

Cheers to a Healthy & Vibrant 2016!

  1. I love parsley recipes and parsley, one of the most popular kitchen herbs that can be grown year round in many climates. Seeds can be sown in clumps, and unless too thick, do not have to be thinned out. Keep the plants well fed and watered and this will prevent them from running straight to seed. The plants are perfect for growing in pots and the curled varieties can even look good as a flower garden border. A parsley used mainly for garnishing dishes, it is high in vitamins, especially rich in iron and vitamin C.

Hi Gwyneth, yes I love parsley as well! I put handfuls of it in my smoothies and salads…it is so unfortunate that it is primarly used as a garnish! Thanks for sharing your tips.
