Day 14 ~ Handle Objections with Your Heart to Explode Your Business

Let’s face it, every entrepreneur will come face to face with all the fears, concerns or objections that a person can possibly have many times throughout their career. A person might object to some particular aspect of the products or service you offer, the company’s history, a concern with your company’s comp. plan or maybe they might even object to YOU! (gasp!)

While it is no fun to feel rejected, it is an inevitable part of doing business. Not every thing is for every one after all!

Of course, knowing that doesn’t always make things easier.  In my early years, when I got an objection, my stomach would tie up in knots, my heart would race and I would go into overdrive trying to sift through my mind to figure out how to deal with it.

And even when I did pull out a good textbook answer, I found that it felt stiff, and more often than not I would find that it just wasn’t landing with the person.

Over time, I learned that having good communication skills and techniques for handling objections is critical to not only authentic connecting, but to increasing your effectiveness and closing more business.

In today’s video for Day 14 of my Tribe Mastery 30 Day Video Challenge, I share a technique I find to be extremely effective for getting out of my head and in to my heart.  It is so important to truly listen, respect each person as unique and meet them wherever they are at !

This is a technique that will absolutely transform your process of handling objections from one of defensive reaction to one of connective response.

  1. I love this post Beth. I struggled with this issue for a very long time. It felt like a wrestling match every time I got an objection. Once I just started talking to people on a personal level and I stopped talking AT them. I was able to increase my business tremendously.

    Thanks for the great reminder, you can never take this type of information for granted.

  2. Hi Beth, I just to say, I love the video. I think at least half of people in business have experienced this kind of trouble. You really can’t please everyone, some will love your work and some won’t. Its just about trying your best and hoping for the best.

    Yes, always doing the best you can at any given time, with a clear intent, will attract the right business to you. You definitely can’t win ‘em all! And I can’t imagine wanting to either…there are just certain people that are NOT a match …. it’s sifting, not convincing! :)
