The Empowered Tribe Turns 1!
Exactly a year ago, I was diving in to an unknown world, unsure if it would amount to anything worthwhile, but open to the possibility that it might amount to something significant. Having been a successful offline network marketer for 13 years, I questioned whether my curiosity for what I’d caught a glimpse of online was warranted or would be a waste of my valuable time and energy.
You see, before November 2009, I really didn’t know much about the blogging world. I knew some of my mom friends had blogs so their families could follow along as the kids grew, but that was pretty much the extent of my knowledge. But a friend sent me to Katie Freiling’s blog thinking that I really should see what she was up to, and as I know has happened for many, I got really excited and my wheels started spinning immediately!
My excitement was clear, but there was one problem….I didn’t have a clue where to begin or what I was doing!
Well as fate would have it, while I sat there reading through the comments, literally on that first day that I found my way to Katie’s blog, I read something that instantly caught my attention. It was an invitation to a free webinar THAT NIGHT, and was going to be 2 hours of pure value-based content on blogging and social media marketing. What timing!
And from what I learned that night, I could have easily just taken my 20+ pages of notes and gone to work creating my blog and beginning my online journey. While I did launch my blog and write my first blog post within a week of that free webinar, I had caught a glimpse of something that lit that fire in my belly and had me know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was one of those moments where I was in the right place at the right time.
I learned about a revolutionary new concept known as a Syndication Alliance, or Tribe, and knew that these guys were on to something huge. Now if you’ve been online for any amount of time, you likely have heard the buzz about Tribes by now. The guys over at the Empowered Tribe started a revolution, and it has been a truly wild and fabulous ride this past year!
More and more tribes seem to be springing up, each with their own unique benefits and spin on the concept. Because the model works so well, I actually participate in another tribe so that I can benefit from all the great stuff their up to and the amazing connections found within. But the Empowered Tribe is where it all began, and I have unending gratitude for what they’ve made possible for me.
Not only did I learn everything from soup to nuts regarding set up and optimization of my blog and all my various social sites, like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, but I continue to learn more and more advanced techniques exactly when I’m ready for them because all the trainings are archived in the community.
They guys even provide an off-the-hook valuable opt-in offer and autoresponder series for members so they can get started on their list right out of the gates! I think most bloggers will agree that creating an opt-in offer that has the necessary sizzle to capture leads is not the easiest task, especially when you’re just getting started! So this is a huge and generous gift from the tribe.
The Empowered Tribe community is made up of like minded entrepreneurs from all over the globe who understand and live by the power of paying it forward. From network marketers, internet marketers and affiliate marketers to coaches, financial advisors, and local brick and mortar businesses, the tribe is a constantly growing and evolving community of incredibly educated, wise and sharp entrepreneurs who are making big things happen in business and life.
If you have not read the book The Go-Giver, by Bob Burg, I highly recommend you pick up a copy and do so as soon as possible. This book epitomizes the very essence of the Empowered Tribe.
While I was blown away with the Empowered Tribe when they launched a year ago, today, I am confident that this tribe is the cream of the crop. A year of honing in on what works best and how to enhance the experience in the tribe has set the stage for an even more extraordinary second year.
First of all they have what’s called a “Welcome Committee”. I honestly haven’t seen a group before where so many people ask how they can help you as soon as you become a member. Or offer you a tour of the community and exactly the best place for you to start based on where you’re at. I know for me personally, I’m usually left to my own devices to figure things out for myself when I arrive in a new community, which can be overwhelming and isolating.
This welcome committee also serves to get you set up with your mastermind and syndication groups so you can start connecting with other members and sharing resources, ideas and support for accelerated growth in your business and life. These weekly power hour calls truly set this tribe in a class of their own and are an absolute blast!
Second thing is, like I mentioned earlier, this whole social syndication model has been really catching some buzz in other communities. Well these guys at the Empowered Tribe are now adding even more value to the community by helping others build their list! They’re calling it Phase 2: List Building. This phase is going to be explosive because after all, we all know that the money is in the list! Essentially this phase entails list building via ad swaps, a well know list building tactic that helps you grow your list by hundreds of opt-ins a month.
And as if this weren’t exciting enough, Phase 3 is already in the works and includes not only Product Creation, but housing the products internally, which is huge! And with the power of the tribe, you already having an army of affiliates ready and willing to spread the word about your new product! Very powerful.
Anyway, if you’re already getting enough traffic and social proof, and are monetizing your efforts online to your satisfaction, then by all means keep doing what you’re doing! But if you could use more of the above, this community could just be what you’re looking for.
In the Empowered Tribe, the knowledge base of the members is so vast that I know that whenever I need help with something, there is someone inside the community who will have the answer or be able to help. And fast! I’ve literally posted something in the community and within minutes, certainly hours, have multiple answers and resources. It is truly awesome.
And as for the tribe leaders, Kary Rogney, Mike Feil, Nick Logan, Ken Pickard, and Jon Alfredsson, these guys are an impressive bunch. They have created massive results online, and in the past 12 months alone, have created 2 products, a company, a live event, and have become top producers in their network companies as well as being brought on to be featured trainers for others groups. They are also helping offline companies by creating their online brand and marketing.
And now they are opening the doors to the community to help others find their niche, create relationship and build their brand online!
In my year with the Empowered Tribe, I have developed some extremely lucrative business partnerships, many life-long friendships and a community I know will always have my back. Feel free to check out what we’re up to, or find me on Facebook or Skype (bethnelsonallen) if you have questions, or would just like to chat with me to see if this tribe could be a good fit for you. I love taking relationships offline as quickly as possible, so do not hesitate to seek me out!
And if you’d like to read a bit more about my experience with the Empowered Tribe, you can check out a few posts of mine from the past year. And I have to add, the first 2 posts here were during my 30 day video challenge, and it is fascinating to me to see the difference in my video on day 7 and day 23!

Hey Beth! So I’ve been there with you since day 1 of this journey, and as a fellow network marketer, I’m curious, how has the tribe syndication helped you build a team? Or are you heading more in the direction of a internet/affiliate marketer now?
Love to know the results you’ve seen. No matter what though, congrats!! Take care,

Awww, Sharon, I’ve missed you! So great to see you here!
No, I am still focused on network marketing, although I do affiliate for things that have made a huge impact on my life. But aside from ocassional blog posts, twitter updates or messages to my list, I don’t spend much time promoting my affiliate products or services.
The tribe has helped my business grow by way of increased exposure. Instead of my message getting out to just my audience, it gets out to the friends and followers of everyone in the tribe syndicating me as well. So a whole lot more people who might resonate with my message, and then we can take the conversation offline. Also, there are many sub-groups within the tribe of people who have joined each other’s companies and now work directly together, which makes it a whole lot more fun.
Let’s catch up soon…..I’ll call you this week!

Hi Beth,
I am so glad you honored this remarkable group of people as the Tribe celebrates its first year. And what a fabulous job of breaking down ALL the details about what value the Empowered Tribe gives its members!
Your description of “spinning your wheels” when you first came online echoes my own experiences back in those early days, and I can’t say enough about how being a part of this tribe has changed my life, both personally and professionally. You were one of the first people I met through the Tribe, and your blog and your story have been inspirational to me since day one. Now our job is to extend the invitation to as many people as we can who are looking for a place online to call home…a place beyond the conventional social media sites where they can learn specific skills about taking their lives and their businesses to the next level…and beyond!

Without this group and the relationships I have built within it, I would have no earthly idea of what I was doing.
Everyone has been so helpful and generous with their time and their knowledge.
Whenever I have a doubt (and that’s very often) I go straight to the tribe and ask, someone usually steps up and helps me out. What more can I ask from a community.
OH and of course, I met you here. How can I complain?

Hey Beth!
What a lovely tribute to an amazing group of guys. I intend to be one of those lifelong friends you have made!!!
I have been part of the Empowered Tribe for a long time as well. I think you were my first Tribe Tuesday leader and it was amazing.
The 5 Tribe Founders have all done a great deal for me, supporting me, teaching me, coaching me and most importantly being my friend. This has also been true of so many of the tribe members. They have been warm, encouraging and helpful.
As Don said, above, I am part of several online communities, but ET is one of my FAVS!!!

I’ve been gearing about ‘tribes’ since I brushed off the dust from my blog and gave it a new post.
This is a very interesting marketing methodology. Though not surprising as you know in the offline world, it is all about networking and ‘back-scratching; and this is what the tribe seem to be.
Will definitely check this out
